Irish terminal goes live at Port of Dunkirk
A novelty in Dunkirk…
The DFDS company benefits from a new terminal Ireland at the Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque. This terminal covers 6,8 hectares. This terminal can accommodate up to 300 unaccompanied trailers. In addition, there are 3,100 linear meters of parking lines intended to accommodate heavy goods vehicles and vehicles with drivers.
… allows regular Dunkirk-Ireland traffic
This new terminal will accommodate very large vessels, up to 30 meters wide and 35,000 tons. When sanitary conditions permit, this traffic will extend to passengers. To date and since the first three quarters of the year, the Dunkirk-Rosslare line has accounted for no less than 40,000 freight units.

Container record broken at the Port of Antwerp
Port of Antwerp received €10.91 million from the Connecting Europe Facility in July 2021. The objective was to improve its container capacity. Here we are! Upon the Manila Maersk call, the Port of Antwerp set a record of number of containers handled in a single visit.
A record highlighted on social networks…
MSC PSA said: “A new record in the port of Antwerp!” A.P. Moller–Maersk Manila Maersk took off from our European MSC PSA terminal on Sunday. This giant tanker surpassed the call size record for the largest number of containers handled in a single visit, handling 11,988 containers. Thank you for your trust, A.P. The Port of Reunion continues to equip itself
Global traffic in full growth compared to 2019…
At the end of July, Port of Reunion saw its overall traffic amount to 3.5 million tons. The port facility said the recorded tonnage was exceeded in the first seven months of 2019. Regarding this volume of transshipment, le Grand Port Maritime Réunion said: “If the trend continues, the forecast for the end of the year would be around 110,000 TEUs, close to the absolute record of 2019”

The SGM and SOMACOM docks saw the arrival of eight new straddle carrier on October 15. Jean Brac de la Perrière, president of the SGM company, said: “We have had an increase in volumes over the past five years and we see that importers are stocking up […] We also need to provide better service to our customers, increasing our productivity.” In addition to these new riders, the Port of Reunion will see the arrival of a Liebherr mobile crane and two new gantries.

James Bond joins CMA CGM
A part of the film No time to Die was shot on CMA CGM Kingston terminal in Jamaica. In addition, two container ships of the same group as well as a dozen crew members were also actors in this film. Indeed, CMA CGM has integrated a team dedicated to the filming of James Bond in terminals of the group in Kingston and Dunkirk. Green projects
Applicants for green projects have until 19 January 2022 to present their projects to the new Connecting Europe Facility. Then, it allows ports or shipowners to benefit from significant subsidies. Maritime transport is largely affected by alternative fuels and projects on the trans-European transport network.
A record envelope from Europe
The total amount is €4 billion. Of this, €1.87 billion will be devoted to projects on the networks and €1.2 billion for alternative fuels. The award of the grants will be announced in June 2022.

Port of Bordeaux and its container traffic
The Bassens terminal expands…
The Bassens terminal, at the port of Bordeaux, has undergone many improvements to develop and improve container maritime traffic. Among them, two cranes stand on the quay, and renovated medians now extend over 86,000 m2. The destruction of a dilapidated hangar has made it possible to gain nearly 20,000 m2 of surface area. This made it possible to better store hundreds of containers. The lighting system has been improved as well as that of the drinking water sanitation. At the end of the quay, there is now a building dedicated to the health and veterinary checks on products imported from third countries.
