Lithium batteries have been classified as a « hazardous chemical ». Depending on the environment in which they are transported, charged batteries may experience a « thermal runaway » which implies overheating and combustion. Thus it is now forbidden to transport them by air, in order to prevent from any disastrous damage of a burned stock of batteries.
Batteries must be sent bysea. Furthermore the batteries shipment must comply with a strict protocol, as set out by IATA regulations: identification, classification and in some specific situations packaging, marking and labelling.
This new regulation has a direct impact on your order shipping time. Please, provide a 15 to 30 days’ period for a shipment by sea.
